Microsoft Word documents can be enhanced by adding a background.

Applying a Background

1.  Click the Format menu, point to Background and select the color you want.

2.  To have different background effects, click the Fill Effects... option on the Background submenu (Step 1)

3.  For a gradient effect, select the amount of colors you want to use.  (from the selection buttons)

4.  From the drop-down menus, select the colors you want to use.

5.  Click the picture of the variant you want to use.

6.  Last, select the Shading Style you want.

7.  Click the OK button.
