Add Page Numbers
Reader rating: 4 out of 10 Introduction When you are writing a long document that you want to add pages numbers to, Microsoft Word lets you do this simply and easily. Add Page Numbers 1. Click the Insert menu and select Page Numbers... from the menu that appears. 2. Figure 1 will display. Figure 1
3. Select the position you want to place the page numbers from the drop-down menu. (Bottom of page is usually what you want to select.) 4. From the Alignment drop-down menu, select where you want the page numbers to appear on the page (left, center, right). 5. If you want to have a page number shown on the first page, check the "Show number on first page" check box. (Sometimes you don't want a page number displayed on the first page as it is sometimes the title page.) 6. To change the font, size, and color of the page number, click the Format... button. 7. Click OK.
