Insert a Page Break

Reader rating: 4 out of 10

Introduction

A page break is a space in your document that tells Word that everything after the page break must go on another page. This can be used to create a Title page, and have the rest of your document follow. Adding a page break is fairly easy, and this How-To Article explains how to do this.

Insert a Page Break

1. Move the cursor to where you want to insert the page break.

2. Click the Insert menu and select Break... from the menu that appears.

3. A window will appear asking you what type of break you want. Select "Page Break" and click OK.

4. The page break will be inserted.

Note: If you are in Print View, Word will move you to the next page where you can start typing again. If you are in normal view, you will just see a "----Page Break----" line.
