E-mail a Document

Reader rating: 5 out of 10

Introduction

When you want to send your Microsoft Word 2000 document to others, you can use Microsoft Office 2000's Internet features to E-mail your document.

This How-To Article explains how to send your Microsoft Word document through E-mail.

E-mail a Document

1. Save your document.

2. Click the File menu, point to "Send To", and click "Mail Recipient (as Attachment)..." from the menu that appears.

3. Type an Address to send the document to.

4. Enter a descriptive Subject to help describe this document.

5. Type a message in the "Body" of the message. (Be sure to describe the attachment so the recipient will know what the document is about.)

6. Click the Send button.

7. Open your E-mail program and be sure that your message is sent out. (If you are using Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express, once your message is sent the Outbox folder text will go back from bold to normal.)

Tip: When you send a document, it will be sent as an Attachment. Be sure to mention in your message that this is a safe attachment, otherwise many people will not open it.
