Introduction

Want an easy way to access the documents you recently worked on in Word?

This How-To Article shows you how to show recently used documents on the File menu.


Recently Used File List

1. Click the Tools menu and select "Options...".

2. Click the "General" tab.

3. Check the "Recently used file list:" check box. (If it is not already checked.)

4. In the text box next to the check box, type how many recently used files you want listed.

5. Click OK.

6. Now, when you click the "File" menu, the number of recently used files you selected in Step 4 will be displayed on the File menu. Just click one of these listings to open the file.
