Add to the AutoCorrect List

Reader rating: 6 out of 10

Microsoft Word's AutoCorrect feature is helpful because it automatically corrects misspelled words. You may have noticed that typing "teh" will cause Word to change it to "the". This is Word's AutoCorrect feature.

Word has a built-in list of commonly misspelled words. If you commonly make errors on the keyboard, you can add more words to this list.

Add to the AutoCorrect List

1. Click the Tools menu and select "AutoCorrect..." from the menu that appears.

2. In the "Replace:" text box, enter the misspelled version of the word.

3. In the "With:" text box, enter the correct spelling of the word you want to add to the entry.

4. Click Add.

5. If you have finished entering entries, click the OK button.
