Reader rating: 3 out of 10

Too much clutter on the Desktop when you have the Active Desktop enabled?

This How-To Article shows you how to hide the Desktop icons when you are using the Active Desktop.

Hide Desktop Icons

1. Right-click a blank spot on the Desktop and select “Properties” from the menu that appears.

2. Click the “Effects” tab.

3. Check the “Hide icons when the desktop is view as a Web page” check box. This will cause the icons to be hidden if you have the Active Desktop enabled.

Tip: The Desktop icons will only be hidden if you have the Active Desktop enabled.
