Reader rating: 4 out of 10 Introduction Want to add a screensaver to your computer? This How-To Article shows you how to add a screensaver to your computer. Add a Screensaver 1. First, download your screensaver from your source. Tip: It is recommended that you run a virus scan on any files that you download from the Internet. 2. Navigate through the My Computer icon on your Desktop until you find where you saved your screensaver. Note: Many screensavers are downloaded as ZIP files (*.zip). You will need to open the zipped file, save the screensaver which is in the ZIP file, and then follow these directions. 3. Right-click the icon of the screensaver file and select "Copy" from the menu that appears. 4. Now, navigate to the C:\WINDOWS\System folder. 5. Right-click a blank spot in this folder and select "Paste" from the menu that appears. 6. Your screensaver is now ready to be used and set up. Tip: If you are trying to save disk space, you can delete the original file that you downloaded (the ZIP file or the actual screensaver file). Just be sure not to delete the file that you pasted in the C:\WINDOWS\System directory.
