Switch Between Applications

Reader rating: 6 out of 10

Introduction

Why use the mouse to switch between currently running applications when you can use the keyboard?

This How-To Article shows you how to use a useful keyboard shortcut to switch between programs on your computer.

Switch Between Applications

1. Press the ALT+TAB key combination.

2. Once the window appears showing the currently running applications, keep holding down the ALT key, and press the TAB key to move the selection to a different program. Once you have selected a program, let the TAB and ALT keys up.

3. Windows will now switch you to the program you selected.

Tip: You must have at least two programs opened to use this keyboard shortcut.
