Introduction

When you no longer use software on your computer, it is common maintenance to remove it.

This How-To Article gives tips on how to successfully uninstall software from your computer, using several methods.

Uninstall Successfully

1. Use the software's uninstall utility to remove the program. This is usually the most successful. To access this program, you can usually find it in the same folder you use to start the program. (Example: Start --> Programs --> My Software --> Uninstall Utility)

2. Use Add/Remove from the Control Panel. This is the second best way to remove programs from your computer. Sometimes uninstalling through the Control Panel will uninstall the same way as in #1.

3. Get a program such as Norton CleanSweep. You can find a program like this at Amazon.com.
