Create Your Own Color-Scheme

Reader rating: 4 out of 10

Did you know that the colors that Windows uses for toolbars, title bars, and even buttons can be customized?

This How-To Article explains the basics to creating your own color scheme.

Create Your Own Color-Scheme

1. Right-click a blank area on the Desktop and choose "Properties..." from the menu that appears.

2. Click the Appearance tab.

3. Choose a Windows-created scheme by selecting from the "Scheme" drop-down menu. Or, you can select individual objects from the "Item" drop-down menu to customize your scheme.

4. Once you select an object, choose its color as well as its font (if font applies to the selected item).
5. Click Apply.

6. Click OK.
