Creating Multiple Shortcuts
Reader rating: 4 out of 10 Introduction Need to create more than one shortcut? This How-To Article shows you how to create multiple shortcuts at the same time. Creating Multiple Shortcuts 1. Double-click the "My Computer" icon from the Desktop. 2. Navigate to the folder which contains the files you would like to create shortcuts for. 3. Hold down the "CTRL" key, and left-click each file or folder you would like to create a shortcut for. Once you have finished selecting files, stop pressing the CTRL key. 4. Using the right mouse button, click and drag one of the files to the Desktop. (This will cause all of the selected files to be dragged as well, allowing you to create the multiple shortcuts.) Important Note: You must use the right mouse button to drag these files. Otherwise, you will move the files/folders instead of creating a shortcut for them. 5. From the menu that appears, select "Create Shortcut(s) Here". 6. A shortcut to each file you selected will be added to the Desktop. From there, you can move the shortcuts to the locations where you would like to place them.
