Create Desktop Wallpaper

Reader rating: 3 out of 10

Want to create your own custom Desktop wallpaper?

This How-To Article shows you how to use Microsoft Paint (part of Microsoft Windows) to create your Desktop wallpaper.

Create Desktop Wallpaper

1. Click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and select "Paint".

2. Use this program's general paint tools to draw and add text.

3. Once you have finished creating your wallpaper, click the File menu and select "Set As Wallpaper (Centered)" from the menu that appears. (You can also select "Set As Wallpaper (Tiled)" if you want the wallpaper to be tiled across the Desktop.

4. You can now choose "Save" from the File menu to save the wallpaper for later modifying.

Tip: If you would like to use any GIF or JPEG image as your wallpaper, open it by selecting "Open" from the File menu, then selecting "Set As Wallpaper (Centered)" from the File menu.
