Reader rating: 3 out of 10

If you send an important E-mail message to someone and your want know when the person reads the message, you can configure the message to send a notification once the message is read by the recipient(s).

Receiving a Notification When a Message is Read

1.  Create a new e-mail message.  (Click the File menu, point to New, and click on "Mail Message" from the menu that appears.)

2.  Click the View menu and click Options from the menu that appears.

3.  The Message Options dialog box will now open.

4.  Check the "Request a read receipt for this message" box.

5.  Click the Close button.

6.  Complete the message and click the Send button.

7.  When the person reads the message, a message will pop up asking if they would like to send a receipt to the sender of the message.  Most users will usually click Yes since you have requested it.
