Create an Appointment

Reader rating: 5 out of 10

Introduction

An Appointment is a block of time in Microsoft Outlook that is scheduled for an event.  Appointments are the heart of the Microsoft Outlook scheduling system.  Creating an Appointment is fairly easy, except all of the options available may be confusing.

Create an Appointment

1.  On the Standard toolbar (the toolbar at the top) of Outlook, point to New.  Click the down arrow next to "New".

2.  On the menu, click Appointment.

3.  Figure 1.1 will then be displayed.

4.  As you can see, the display is sort of confusing with all of the toolbar buttons and options.

5.  Where it says: "Subject:" enter what the Appointment is about.

6.  In "Location:", type where the appointment will take place.

7.  Choose the start date/time and the end date/time. (If this is an event that happens all day such as a Birthday Party, click the "All day event" check box).

8.  If you would like to have a reminder pop-up on the screen before the appointment, check the Reminder box and choose (from the drop-down menu) how many minutes in advance you would like the reminder to pop-up.

That's all the simple setup you need to create an appointment.
