Reply to a Message
Reader rating: 6 out of 10 Introduction Once you receive a message from someone, it can sometimes be helpful to reply to the message; possibly notifying the sender that you got the message, or to follow up on a point in the message. This How-To Article discusses the two options for replying to a message, what they do, and how to use them. Reply to a Message Reply to a single recipient When you want to send a reply to the author of the message, follow these directions. 1. Click the message you want to reply to (by selecting it from the list of messages in your Inbox or other Mail folder.) 2. Click the "Reply" button from Outlook's top toolbar. 3. Your subject and sender's address will be automatically filled in for you. 4. Just type a reply to your message, and click the Send button. Reply to the author of the message and all recipients If you want to send a reply to everyone who the message was sent to (To: and CC: fields), follow these directions. 1. Click the message you want to reply to (by selecting it from the list of messages in your Inbox or other Mail folder.) 2. Click the "Reply to All" button from Outlook's top toolbar. 3. Note that the To: and Subject: fields will be automatically filled in for you. 4. Type your message and click the Send button.
