Reader rating: 5 out of 10

Introduction

Microsoft Outlook makes it easy to automatically empty your Deleted Items folder upon exiting.

Empty Deleted Items on Exit

1. Click the Tools menu and select Options from the menu that appears.

2. Click the Other tab.

3. Check the "Empty the Deleted Items folder upon exiting" check box.

4. Click the OK button.

Please Note: When you close Outlook now, there will be no confirmation telling you that the Deleted Items folder will be deleted, so be sure you want to delete these items before closing Outlook.
