Permanently Delete Items

When you delete an item in Microsoft Outlook, it moves to the "Deleted Items" folder.

Why doesn't Outlook just delete it?

Outlook uses this as a safety feature. Just in case you don't want an item deleted, it will be moved to Deleted Items.

This How-To Article explains how you can get a single item permanently deleted, instead of being moving to the Deleted Items folder.

Permanently Delete Items

1. Click the item that you would like to delete.

2. Press the SHIFT+Delete key combination.

3. If prompted, click the Yes button to delete the item.
