Close All Workbooks

This How-To Article shows you how to close all your currently open Excel workbooks without closing Excel itself. Close All Workbooks 1. Hold down the "Shift" key. 2. Click the File menu in any of your currently open Excel workbooks. (You can stop pressing the Shift key after you click the File menu.) 3. From the menu that appears, select "Close All". 4. All of the currently open workbooks will close, and Excel itself will remain open.
