Reader rating: 5 out of 10 Introduction It is sometimes helpful to rotate the position of data in your worksheet's cells. This is especially helpful when creating column titles. This How-To Article shows you how to change many data alignment settings. Change Alignment of Data 1. Right-click the cell the you would like to change alignment for. 2. From the menu that appears, select "Format Cells...". 3. Click the "Alignment" tab. 4. From the "Horizontal:" and "Vertical:" drop-down menus, select the alignments that you would like to use. Horizontal Alignment -This alignment is the same type of alignment that you use in word processing applications such as Microsoft Word. This sets where the text is positioned horizontally in the cell.
Vertical Alignment -This type of alignment sets how far up or how far down the data is positioned. This is similar to the Top, Middle, Bottom positioning for Word and FrontPage tables.
