Insert a Column or Row

Reader rating: 6 out of 10

Introduction

Sometimes you may run out of space in your worksheet. Instead of moving some data further down in your worksheet, you can insert another column or row to fit your data.

Insert a Column or Row

1. Select a row or column (by clicking the row or column's letter of number).

2. Click the Insert menu, and select "Row" or "Column" (depending on which you are inserting).

3. The new row or column will appear and the data below it will move down one cell.
