Rename a Worksheet

Reader rating: 4 out of 10

Introduction

If you are using many worksheets in your Excel workbook, it can be helpful to rename the default names. This can make it easier to distinguish between each worksheet.

Rename a Worksheet

1. Double-click the tab of the worksheet that you would like to rename.

2. Type a new name for the worksheet you just selected.

3. Press enter.

Tip: Microsoft Excel only allows you to have up to 31 characters in a worksheet name. This includes spaces and any other special characters.
