Division Formula

Reader rating: 4 out of 10

This How-To Article shows you how to display the answer of a division problem in your worksheet.

Division Formula

1. Click the cell that you would like the answer of this division problem to go in.

2. Type: =(cellname1/cellname2). Substitute "cellname1" and "cellname2" with the names of the cells you want to use in this formula.

3. Press the "Enter" or "Return" key.

Tip: If you have no values in the cells you specify, or if you try to divide by "0", then you will see "#DIV/0!" in the cell you enter the formula in. This is just telling you that you are trying to divide by zero. Fix your numbers, and try again.
